Born and raised in Singapore, Bum Ariffin, 23 is full time student of LASALLE College of the Arts and a photographer. He is currently pursuing his degree in Fine Arts majoring in art photography. He dwells with the mundane scenes we overlook in our daily life. iSH magazine and Singapore Press Holdings are some of the publishing houses that he has worked in. He has also been commissioned to shoot for the likes of Tiger Beer and Les Amis. Being 1 of the first few recipients of The Apprenticeship Programme in 2005 organized by National Arts Council, he has been an active member with Noise Singapore ever since. He has exhibited his works in shopping malls such as Marina Square and Heerens. He was also invited to showcase his works in commemoration with the Youth Olympics held in Singapore. He has also won awards for his photography and in 2008 he received first prize for the Photograph Your Hometown photography competition organized by New York Institute of Photography and had his works exhibited in New York City.
